Designed by CHEC (China Harbor Engineering Company) which is a part of CCCC (China Communications Construction Company), the vision of this project is “Building a World Class City”. Even though Port City is not fully opened to the public, the already functioning zones exhibit the grandeur of this project and the benefits that the travelers and tourists can gain by visiting the Port City. General Details about the Port City
As mentioned previously, this is aimed to be a world class city with luxurious and sophisticated components of a liveable city. It spans around 269 hectares on a retrieved land of the sea. There are five zones: International Island, Financial District, Island Living, The Marina and the Central Park Living. Colombo Port City has been able to gain the attention of the international community as well for its sustainable strategies used and smart city concepts. It seems like a utopia. But it is real. The city will give access to world class facilities in education, entertainment, healthcare, hotels and restaurants and many other aspects.
Entertainment and Fun at Port City
There are several things that the travelers and tourists can do at the Port City.
Yachting- The very first thing that the public and the foreigners had access to was yachting. You can make reservations according to your preferences because customized cruise experiences are also available here! It would be an indelible travel experience to add to your travel journal.
Golfing- Next, people can enjoy their time by golfing. You do not have to worry if you are an amateur at golfing. The space is open for golfers at any competency level.
ATV Track - This is Sri Lanka’s only artificial beach. You can enjoy driving over small sand dunes. It spans across 5 acres.
Beach- Port City beach is not open yet to the public. However, once opened, people have the opportunity to do many watersports and to enjoy a relaxing and calm environment in Colombo.
Entertainment through partying- the space is open for international musicians and DJs. It will be a mesmerizing experience to witness such an international level entertainment function.
There are many other entertainment zones which are not yet open. Once the port city is completed fully, it will be a good opportunity for both local and foreign tourists.
